paper proposal

I'm thinking of doing something on indians used by the british in their wartime exploits, but aside from that general idea i'm really at a loss. it sounded like an interesting subject when we were talking about it but i don't really know where to go with a topic that broad. the idea of a people taken over and used as fodder in wars that in no way affected them is a hugely tragic idea that, truthfully i was completely unaware had happened on such a large scale. i guess if you have any ideas for a more concrete direction to lead my research just hit a dude up. thanks, zach

  1. Well, that happened in the U.S. as well. I mean in the civil war many slaves were fighting the battles. Also, in WWII many minorities (who were of course seen as inferior at the time) were being called upon to fight the battles of their country. It is not really such a radical thing, it happens a lot. It just reminds me of the whole GI bill thing where the US promised to pay for schooling for the soldiers after they came back to the country. Only, they weren't even allowed to go to "good" colleges the US began creating community colleges and separate but equal ones..meanies.
